Award Selection Process

State Swimming Coaches of the Year

Winning coaches of the year's state meets are up for nomination and voted on by the TISCA Board of Directors at the spring board meeting.

State Diving Coaches of the Year

Winning coaches of the year's state meets are up for nomination and voted on by the TISCA Board of Directors at the spring board meeting.

State Assistant Coach of the Year

Head coaches nominate an assistant coach for the award. The TISCA Board of Directors review nominations and votes on the recipient at the spring board meeting. (Introduced in 2020)

 

*Prior to 2016, the State Coach of the Year was voted on by the coaches with participating athletes at the UIL state meet regardless of affiliation with TISCA.

**Due to increased school populations, UIL added the 6A Classification. The division of the state championship meet was then changed to 6A and 5A & Under.
