Sven Schultz has been around diving boards for the most of his life. He competed at the Jr. and Sr. National level, represented the University of Houston for four years and has worked with others to give families an opportunity to receive competitive dive instruction in the south Houston area for over 35 years.
Over the past 8 years, his focus has been to expand our diving program called Bay Area Star Dive that meets the needs of athletes in the Houston area by providing year- round instruction in both dryland and pool settings. In 2025, his program will celebrate 38 years in offering dive with multiple athletes who went on to dive in college, start coaching themselves and had one participate in the recent Olympic trials.
Prior to expanding BASDT, his career for seventeen years was mostly developing high school swimming, diving and water polo programs at the 5A & 6A levels. We had success in all sports at the state level and held an office as the TISCA Water Polo Chairman. Schultz’s high school career ended by attempting for three years to work as the CCISD district diving coach and as an assistant principal. Schultz is a recipient of the Craig Nolder Lifetime Achievement Award.
